Reminder: Reading Neighbourhood Network & Reading Voluntary Action are trying to encourage residents to hold street parties; this is a fantastic way to get to know your neighbours and bring people together of all ages. With this in mind they are asking for help from community associations and KCA has arranged for RVA to run a free workshop which lets residents know how to go about organising a street party.
The workshop is to be run on Thursday 5 March, 6.30pm at the Children’s Centre, Waterloo Meadows, Elgar Road.
To book, please visit bit.ly/37ggJ9D or call RVA on 0118 937 2273 (although you can just turn up on the night).
Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is usually held in October.
Our 2019 AGM is to be held on Wednesday 16 October, 7pm at the Christ Church Centre, Milman Road. Please come along and find out what we have been doing during 2019 – including details of environmental initiatives, community events, and Katesgrove’s Community Allotment.
Also at this meeting we take a few minutes to agree our General Committee which can have up to 15 Ordinary Members. If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else (with their permission) for a role on the committee, please fill out the attached form and return it to us by 5pm on Wednesday 9th October. (The form also provides a short remit of each role).
